Mercedes-Benz
250 SE Cabriolet
THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD
I’ve
known this beautiful car for approximately fourteen years now. I
think it’s one of the best 60’s Mercedes Cabriolets I’ve
seen in Arizona.
This
is an exceptionally solid and straight car that’s been genuinely
appreciated by its owners since new! Personally, I’ve always
been partial to the 250 SE model. They have more horse power and
torque then 220’s and the classic tall grill is much more
impressive then the low grill 280’s.
The
silver paint on this car (original color) is in very good
condition. The original leather on the dash and door panels are in
equally good condition. The leather on the front and rear seats is
new. The leather was professionally restored with pleats and
perforations identical to original. Also, new Mercedes Benz
original equipment seat belts were installed too.
The
interior wood has been professionally restored and it’s in show
quality. While they were in the area, the original Becker Mexico
radio was fully restored too. This car has also had an excellent
Sony ten disc CD system installed VERY DISCRETLY under the dash
and in the trunk. Normally, I don’t care for this type of thing
but in this case I really admire the quality of the sound and the
excellent, non-obtrusive installation.
The
car has a new navy blue German canvas top and wool headliner. The
top padding is new as well. The original leather top boot still
fits just fine as the photographs show.
This
car also has new Michelin tires and a new OEM Mercedes windshield.
The chrome on the car is original and is above average for its
age. It’s not show quality but I think it’s quite presentable.
Although, if the car was mine, I’d consider re-chroming the rear
bumper.
Mechanically,
this 250 SE Cabriolet car runs and drives great! As far as I know, the indicated mileage of 99,330 is correct.
In
the mid-nineties the car left Arizona and went to New York for a
few years. While there the car was carefully maintained, properly
garaged and never driven in inclement weather. The car then
traveled to Texas with it’s owner and then to California and now
back to Arizona. All of this time, this car has been under the
scrupulous care of the same owner who I sold the car to in 1996.
Prior to ’96 this car belonged to another friend of mine who
purchased it in 1991 under my guidance in Arizona.
I
think this is an excellent opportunity to purchase an exceptional
250 SE Cabriolet.
