1988 Jaguar V-12
XJS Coupe
Asking only
$2,850.00
$2,500.00
This is
not a mis-print. I’m really going to sell this no rust,
running and driving Jag V-12 Coupe for $2,850.00 $2,500.00.
 It’s a
California / Arizona car since new and it’s amazingly
straight. Personally, I haven’t seen any signs of rust or
accidents. It appears to me to still be wearing most all of
its original paint as it left the factory although I’m sure
it’s probably had a touch-up or two over the last twenty-one
years.
 Most of
these Jags are weak mechanically and many are completely
broken. This one seems to be running and driving pretty good
at the moment although it’s been sitting in storage for years.
The previous owner (who was the second owner) told me he spent
in excess of twenty grand on this car over the year’s just on
thorough and careful maintenance. Unfortunately, he wasn’t the
best at record keeping so I only received a little less then
half of the receipts to document the maintenance work.
Essentially the biggest thing this car
needs is cosmetic work. The previous owner obviously cared
very little about this, preferring to spend money to keep the
car running well rather then looking good. So now the clear
coat is going away on some of the paint, mostly on the roof.
The original leather is still in this car but there are splits
in some of the seat seams and cracks in the interior wood.
Some of the interior plastic is broken and the headliner is
awful.

With all
of this being said it’s still a great buy at this price. Where
else could you possibly find a running and driving exotic V-12
powered touring car for $2,850.00? Remember too, that it’s a
no rust California/Arizona car. This is definitely not some
back East rust bucket. Again please keep in mind that this is
a running and driving car. If you parted the car out it could
possibly bring three or four times this price just as a parts
car. As an example, a man just told me he was quoted a price
of $1,400 on a pair of cylinder heads for one of these cars
and over four grand for a running motor. With this car, if you
start thinking about a running engine, a good working
transmission, a quiet rear-end and all of this great
California & Arizona sheet metal, you can see how quickly
the value of the components add up to far more then the
purchase price.
I have a lot of additional photos that I
would be happy to email you if you like. Among these are some
very detailed chassis shots taken with the car up on a lift.
Most sellers won’t take the time and effort to do something
like this but I did. I know what it’s like to buy a car from
pictures so I want you to have all of the information
necessary to make an informed decision.

In my opinion this is a great buy for
someone.
