Mercedes Custom
450SL Coupe / Roadster
If you enjoy something really different like I do, then you should be interested in this car. This car is one of only two that were specially modified by DeAtley motor sports in Portland, Oregon. This company was very well known for Trans-Am series championship racing in the mid-eighties. There were exceptionally skilled craftsman working here building award winning Camaros and Corvettes for drivers like David Hobbs. Additionally, these guys were restoring great cars for the famous Neil DeAtley motor sports collection.
Listed below are a few of the modifications unique to these very special
cars:
- Completely custom created front-end treatment with a unique hood, grill and headlights reminiscent of a 560
SEL.
- Special bumpers created just for these cars.
- Unique side ground effects kit.
- Custom upholstery.
- Numerous mechanical improvements to eliminate some of the problems that the stock mid-seventies 450SL’s had.
Once again, only two of these cars were built and both have been retained within the De Atley collection since new. However, to make room for some recent acquisitions, a few of the cars from this premier collection are now going to be sold and I’ve been asked to assist in this process. Among the few cars to be offered, one of the two custom SL’s is now on the market and that’s the car you see pictured before you here.
The car has very low mileage and it’s in very nice condition. Please call me and I’ll be happy to go over the details with you.
If you’re the type of person that really enjoys something different to drive every day or to take to a show, this is a car you should consider. To find something like this with this level of ultra high build quality combined with the exclusivity of having one of only two built is a very unique opportunity. I would think that at the very reasonable asking price for the car, this is could be a special opportunity that would be impossible to duplicate.
Asking $34,500.
